A Message from Our Founder and CEO
As the founder of Pretty Powerful, I would like to say that my story is unique. But the truth of the matter is, my story is all too familiar with lots of girls and women in the southeast and nationwide.
Like so many adolescent girls, there were many things in my life that were out of my control and insecurities ran rampant in my mind.
Fortunately, as I entered womanhood, my confidence grew. I often reflected (and still do) with my girlfriends on the things we overcame and the things the coming generations were up against. We would ache for them because we knew what was ahead.
So one day I decided I wanted to be the woman that I needed growing up and I did (and am doing) just that.
Welcome to Pretty Powerful and here’s to building the next generation of confident women!

Where It All Began
Pictured above is our very first logo.
Originally known as The Peek-A-Boo PrettyGirl Foundation (PABPG), the organization came to be in July 2012 after founders, Jessica Tee and Kindra Mone’, began doing charity work with women’s shelters in Columbia, South Carolina in 2012. They, along with a team of women, would host workshops that addressed confidence, makeup tips, resume-building and more. Teen girls lived in these transitional homes as well, so the workshops expanded to incorporate their needs. From there, high school mentorship was requested by the organization much more frequently and the rest is history. Pictured is our original logo when we were known as PABPG.
New logo, Same mission.
After intentional and purposeful activity for 4 years, our founders took a break to go live their lives. Jessica began teaching high school English and Kindra advanced in her beauty writer career in NYC. In 2020, they found their way back to their purpose work and relaunched PABPG under a new name with the same mission - The Pretty Powerful Foundation. The life lessons learned in their early womanhood is woven into the fabric of all of the events and resources created here.
We came back strong and our fist logo reflected that. Since then, we’ve refined ourselves even more and our most current logo represents our simple, yet powerful sophistication.
